Nike Sportswear Blazer ’77 “Zig-Zag”

The long-awaited “Zig-Zag” edition of Nike Sportswear‘s Blazer ’77 is finally making its way into authorized retailers. The shoes upper is comprised of a light-colored leather with touches of suede having been placed near the toe. A hit of orange garnishes the heel while a multicolored Swoosh is the main focal point of the Blazer. Tonal laces finish of the look, but orange laces are also included with every purchase.

Fans of J. Cole might recall a time when the North Carolina rapper had little more than “A Dollar and A Dream.” After warming up with Cole World: The Sideline Story, and preparing to release Born Sinner though, it seems as if now the rapper has both in excess. Like many rappers, Cole considers no less than two chains, a bottle of Hennessy, and a hookah as necessary items. In another respect though, we find noise-canceling headphones, a pen and pad (rare in an age of smartphone raps), and even more convincingly: a copy of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel is of great importance here, as it symbolizes what has made J. Cole’s music so appealing over the years: the balance between dark and light. Rediscover J. You may recognize Adrianne Ho from her GQ spread for Unis, Jake Davis‘s “Test Shots,” or countless shoots in which she proves that streetwear looks better on the fairer sex. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past year, she has been hard to miss. Strikingly beautiful, the half-French, half-Chinese Toronto native is, as some people put it, the new “it girl,” the “anti-heroin chic model” and a woman who represents the intersection of power, independence, sexuality, all within connections to the city in a relevant way. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the clothes she models are almost as covetable — an of-the-moment mix of streetwear labels like Supreme and Stussy, #menswear and Nike.
